#4 Seed, Wild Stangs, upsets the field with 49-38 win

In a well fought championship game, the fouth seeded Wild Stangs defeated #2 seed The Money Team with a 49-38 victory.

The Mount Ida College Intramural Basketball championship game was held before a crowd of 85 students last night in the Mount Ida Athletic Center.  With both teams playing short-handed, only 5 players on each squad, Wild Stangs was able to out hustle their opponent on the way to the wild win and upset.

Mamour Samb led the way for Wild Stangs with 20 points while teammate Kevin Neal chipped in 14 points and 3 rebounds.  Out hustling everyone, Zach Samiljan grabbed a game high 18 rebounds, which helped the Wild Stangs control the game and get extra posessions.  Samiljan also added 11 points for the victors.

Malcolm Brown quietly let The Money Team with 20 points of his own while Jovan Wilson dropped 13 points.  However, with the clock continuing to wind down, The Money Team was forcing a bunch of 3 pointers, which were not finding the bottom of the net.

After a final timeout while being pressured, Wild Stangs took the floor and the victory when The Money Team exploded at each other after a night of frustration.

Fun Fact: After Samiljan's 18 rebounds, the next person on either team had 6 rebounds.

Extra Entertainment: M.I.S.T. (Mount Ida Step Team), performed at half time and wowed the crowd with a 5+ minute routine that was in perfect timing.
