Mustangs Top Pine Manor in Cross Country Dual Meet

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Mount Ida College women's cross country ran to a 25-30 victory over Pine Manor College on Thursday afternoon in a dual meet between the two squads. 

Mount Ida junior Emily Bernotas (Sunderland, Mass.), who completed the two-loop course around campus in 25:02 and was the individual runner-up, helped lead the Mustangs to the overall team victory. 

Junior Anna Hogle (New Lebanaon, NY) finished fourth overall with a time of 26:07, while Samantha Laferriere finished fifth at 28:27 and senior Kristen Guerrero (Fairfield, CT) finished sixth with a time of 28:41. Kaitlyn Mulenforth rounded out the top five for the Mustangs with a time of 29:11. 

Pine Manor College freshman Maria Vaughan (Okinawa, Japan) finished with the top overall time of 24:51 to capture the individual crown.  

For the Gators, Alexis Bushika (Adams, MA) finished third with a time of 26:06, while Victoria Astudillo (Brighton, MA) was the next highest finisher in seventh with a time of 28:47. 

Mount Ida will be back in action next Friday when they head to the Emmanuel Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston, MA, while this was the final race of the year for Pine Manor's runners.
