NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida College ended their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's volleyball tri-match with a 3-1 win over the University of St. Joseph (CT), earning them a split of their two matches on the day.
The Mustangs beat the Bluejays 25-20, 25-27, 25-15, 25-21 to secure the split after falling to Johnson & Wales University in straight sets to start the day.
The Wildcats beat St. Joseph 3-0 in the netural match in the middle of the day.

Mary Kate Reidy (Agawam, Mass.) racked up a game-high 19 kills and also had 12 digs in the victory, while senior Taylor Davis (Machiasport, Maine) tallied 39 assists.
Freshman Kristy Walton (Fairhaven, Mass.) was also in double-digit kills with 13, and she and Reidy led the home team with four service aces apiece. Senior Kelcey Koolman (Bedford, N.H.) led all players with 16 digs, and junior Alysha Dunbar (Quincy, Mass.) had 12 digs, two aces and six kills.
The Blue Jays got 10 kills, eight assists and 13 digs from Tiffany Mapusaga (Waianae, Hawaii) and nine kills from Cassandra Grimaldi (Manchester, Conn.) in the four-set loss. Carly Ruzbasan (Torrington, Conn.) racked up 18 assists and turned in seven digs in a defensive effort, while Emily Vigue (Lebanon, Conn.) led all players with seven aces.

The Wildcats swept the Mustangs by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-20 to improve to 3-0 in the conference.
Senior Marissa Bunnewith (Millbury, Mass.) led the Wildcats with 11 kills and just one error on 14 attempts, good for a .714 hitting percentage.
Emily Kalmink (Byron Center, Mich.) also led the way with nine digs to go with 7 kills. Senior Kellen Tensen (New Canaan, Conn.) put up 23 assists in the win.
THe Mustangs got 10 kills from Reidy and seven from Walton, along with 22 assists from Davis. Walton tallied nine digs in a defensive effort and junior Molly Alkinburg (Port Deposit, Md.) had seven kills and assisted on two blocks.

The Wildcats make quick work of the Bluejays, beating them 25-18, 25-11, 25-11.
Kalmink led all players with 13 kills and Tensen put up 29 assists in the win, while also serving three of the Wildcats' 14 service aces.
Mapusaga had five kills and seven assists in the loss for the Bluejays (8-8, 2-3 GNAC).
Mount Ida (9-11, 2-3 GNAC) travels out of conference on Tuesday to take on MIT in Cambridge at 6:00 pm.
