Volleyball Dropped by Rams in Straight Sets

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – An undermanned Mount Ida College women's volleyball team dropped 3-0 decision to Framingham State University on Tuesday evening in non-conference women's volleyball action at Framingham Athletic Center. The Rams (14-7) won by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15, dropping Mount Ida to 5-15 on the season. 

The Mustangs (5-15) were led offensively by six kills from sophomore Alysha Dunbar (Quincy, Mass.). Dunbar filled the stat sheet with an ace and five digs, while junior Taylor Davis (Machiasport, ME) contributed five kills and 11 digs.  Junior Kelcey Koolman (Bedford, NH) and freshman Mary Kate Reidy (Agawam, Mass.) led the back row play with 18 and 13 digs, respectively. 

The Rams received seven kills, nine digs and three aces from sophomore Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.), while classmate Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) added a match-high nine kills with just one error on 22 attempts.  Senior Courtney Wilbur (Briantree, Mass.) and junior Danielle Girard (Tivoli, NY) led the back row with 14 and 10 digs, while freshman Molly Meehan (Quincy, Mass.) picked up 10 set assists. 

The Mustangs return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play when they travel to Norwich on Saturday for a conference tri-match with the Cadets and Johnson & Wales beginning at 2 p.m.   

The Rams are back in action on Thursday evening when they host Suffolk University in a non-conference match at 6 p.m.
