Wednesday, November 7, 2012 - Mount Ida College women's volleyball senior hitter Jennifer Ferreira (Shirley, MA/Ayer) finished off her career with a bang collecting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC0 first team All-Conference honors this past week after compiling the best overall individual season of her career.
Ferreira's year was nothing short of impressive leading the Mustangs in kills (396) with a 3.81 a set for a hitting percentage of .180 as Mount Ida's biggest offensive weapon throughout the entire season. Her 396 kills this season was the most in a single year in the history of the women's volleyball program since the College joined NCAA Division III competition in 1999. Ferreira finished her career as second all-time in kills in the Mount Ida all-time record books as well.
What was more remarkable was that Ferreira landed second in the GNAC statistical leaders column behind the conference's Player-of-the-Year in kills per set and total kills for the 2012 season.
Ferreira was not only impressive at the net but her back row skills were an asset to the Mustangs all season. She was second on the team in digs (273) and services aces (27) good for 2.62 digs per set and a quarter of a dig per game (.26).
Congratulations to Jenn on this impressive individual accomplishment!
