Sophomore Karla Flores (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had a match-high 14 digs, while first-year Brianna San Diego (Daly City, Calif.) added seven digs and two kills.

Mount Ida jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the first set, but Babson quickly seized control by winning 10 of the next 12 points to grab an 11-6 lead. The Beavers used two service aces by San Diego and another by Tinker, along with two kills from Flaherty to grab the lead for good. The Mustangs would get as close as 13-10 before three straight kills, two by Tinker, one by Flaherty, gave Babson a 16-10 bulge that they would not relinquish in winning the first set 25-17.

The second set featured 11 ties and five lead changes, with neither team leading by more than four at any point. With the game tied at 11, the Mustangs ripped off five of the next six points to take a 16-12 lead before the Beavers came storming back to take a 19-17 lead. Mount Ida had leads of 24-23 and 25-24, but Untermann kept the match alive twice with kills at game-point, before Tinker and Flaherty finished the game with back-to-back kills to give Babson a 28-26 win and two-set advantage. The Beavers had 21 kills to just six errors for the game.
Trailing 6-5 early in the third set, Babson ran seven straight points, and would win 20 of the final 27 points to close out the match in style, 25-13. Flaherty accounted for seven of the Beavers 15 kills in the game, while the Mustangs struggled, making four service errors and three ball-handling errors.

Mount Ida closes out its season on Saturday, when they travel to Emmaunel to face the Saints and Emerson College in a GNAC tri-match.
