The Mount Ida College women's volleyball team swept both ends a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match this past Saturday against hosting Suffolk University, 3-1, by scores of 23-25, 27-25, 25-16, and 25-23 and over visiting Pine Manor College, 3-0, by scores of 25-21, 25-10, and 25-21.
Against the Rams, the Mustangs were led by junior Rachelle Gilbert (Corunna, IN/Dekalb) with 11 kills of 38 attempts adding a game high 17 digs. Sophomore Christine Gallart (Germantown, MD/St. John's College HS) added 10 kills on 26 attempts tallying three solo blocks.
Against the Gators, the Mustangs were led by sophomore middle blocker Devyn Frank (Mystic, CT/Fitch) with 10 kills on no errors good for a hitting percentage of .625. Senior Chelsea Darnell (Dublin, OH/Dublin Scioto) added eight kills while fellow senior setter Kira Feeter (Keene, NH/Keene) dished out 13 assists.
