MUSTANGS PLACE THIRD AT PLYMOUTH STATE TOURNEY

The Mount Ida College women's volleyball team traveled to Plymouth State University this weekend starting on Friday to compete in the Days Inn of Campton volleyball tournament.  The Mustangs started defeating Thomas College 3-0 in straight games by scores of 25-14, 25-5, and 25-11 for their first victory of the tournament. 

They went on to play host Plymouth State University losing 3-0 to the Little East Conference (LEC) powerhouse by scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-14 falling to 1-1 after the first day of tournament play.  The will play Lesley University starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning and will then face Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Emerson College at noon. 

In day two of the Days Inn of Campton Plymouth State University women's volleyball tournament the Mustangs split for the second day in a row placing third out of five teams (Plymouth State University, Mount Ida College, Emerson College, Thomas College, and Lesley College). 

The first game of the day was against Lesley University with the Mustangs taking down the Lynx in three straight games winning 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-14.  Mount Ida headed into the final match of the tournament against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) member Emerson College losing 3-0 for the second year in a row to the Lions by scores of 25-6, 25-23, and 25-19.

Mount Ida women's volleyball will travel to Newbury College this coming Tuesday starting at 7:00 p.m.
