TATELY CEMENTS NAME IN NCAA COACHING RECORD BOOKS

Mount Ida College women's volleyball head coach Skip Tately has cemented his name in the coaching record books landing 32nd out of the top 50 winningest active coaches in NCAA division III competition.  Tately has an overall career record of 141-64 along with a winning percentage of .688 in his seven years as head coach at the College.

He led the Mustangs to five consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championships from 2002-2006 and three straight NCAA tournament berths from 2004-2006.  He will begin his third season in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 2009 after making the post-season tournament in his first two years in the GNAC.  Tately was recognized by his peers as "NAC Coach-of-the-Year" in four of his first five seasons at Mount Ida, with his last in 2005.  He went virtually undefeated in NAC play with only two losses (41-2) in five years.

Tately will be entering his eighth season as head coach of the Mustangs kicking off the 2009 season at non-conference New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) member Wheaton College on September 2, 2009 starting at 7:30 p.m.
