WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BEAT WPI FOR SECOND TIME

The Mustangs hosted the Engineers from Worcester Polytech tonight winning 3-0 in straight sets for their sixth win of the season. It was the second time MIC played WPI this season when they faced them in the Regis College Annual Tournament this past weekend.

Sophomore Megan Svendsen (Sebastopol, CA/Analy) continued her solid defensive play with eight digs and included four service aces as well.  Andrea Bobadilla (Marshfield, MA/Marshfield) and Blair Canan (N.Reading, MA/N.Reading) also chipped in eight digs a piece.  Amanda Pereira (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford) also included eight digs with exceptional defensive play.

Junior captain Stephanie Saito (West Linn, OR/West Linn) and Senior captain Adrienne Xenos (Brockton, MA/Brockton) controlled the floor in the final game to will their team to a shutout victory due to a shaky third game start.

The Mustangs will head to Plymouth State University this weekend for the Days Inn Campton Volleyball Tournament for the fourth time in history. It will start on Friday, September 7, 2007. Times are to be announced.
