Mount Ida senior Cam Hayward and freshman Mike Alibrandi were named as the respective Great Northeast Athletic Conference Corvias Men’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon for their performances in a pair of home Mustang victories over Regis and Anna Maria last week.

Hayward, a native of Derry, N.H. and a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, posted a 5.45 goals against average and a .609 saves percentage in the two contests, as he made 14 total stops in just under 100 minutes of action.  Cam recorded nine saves in a 15-7 triumph over Anna Maria last Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field after making five stops in just over 39 minutes in last Wednesday’s 15-5 win over Regis, as he extended his own school record with his 33rd and 34th career victories.

Alibrandi, a native of Holliston, Mass. and a graduate of Holliston High School, netted three goals and four assists for seven points on the week, including a pair of tallies and two helpers against Regis to go with a marker and two assists against Anna Maria.  Mike, who has 14 goals and 17 assists for 31 points on the spring, added nine ground balls in the two matches last week.

Mount Ida, which sports a 7-7 overall mark under Head Coach Andrew Fink, brings a 6-1 GNAC slate into a crosstown showdown with rival Lasell later this afternoon in Auburndale, Mass.
