WINTHROP, Mass. -- Mount Ida College senior Lucas Stralka (E. Greenwich, R.I.) has been on an offensive tear this season, scoring goals at a hat-trick pace. And when he's not finding the back of the net, he has been finding his teammates for better goal-scoring opportunites. All of that has led to his recognition this week as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second time this season.
This week alone Stralka registered 13 points in two games, scoring seven goals and adding six assists, making him equally dangerous to opponents to either attack or dish the ball. In the Mustang's 17-12 win over Southern Maine, Stralka scored three times and set up four goals to help the Mustangs hand the Huskies their first loss of the year.
He had a team-high four goals and added two more assists in a tight 13-10 loss to Eastern Connecticut State, and now leads the team with 20 goals and 32 points on the season.
Stralka joined teammate Cam Hayward (Derry, N.H.) as honorees in the first week of the season, while Jon Berry (Chichester, N.H.) has also earned a Player of the Week award this year.
The Mustangs open GNAC play on Saturday afternoon with a 12:00 pm rematch of last year's title game at Emmanuel.
