Berry Continues Trend of Mustangs Honored by GNAC

WINTHROP, Mass. -- Junior attack Jon Berry (Chichester, N.H.) is the latest Mount Ida College men's lacrosse player to be recognized this season, as he was named Corvias Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The award was selected by the conference office and announced by Assistant Commissioner Michael Ghika.

Berry had an outstanding offensive week, scoring eight goals in two games as the Mustangs went 1-1 in non-conference play. He poured in two goals and three assists as Mount Ida beat Salem State 14-6 and then scored a game-high six goals with two more helpers in a tight 15-13 loss at Castleton.

With 13 goals and 21 points, Berry sits at the top of the Mustang scoring chart. He has scored three man-up goals and has a 64.5% shots on goal percentage.

The Mustangs (3-3) are back at home for a pair of games this week, starting on Wednesday when they host Southern Maine at 3:30 pm, followed by a 1:00 pm game on Saturday against Eastern Connecticut State.
