Cordaro Named to 2014 NEILA Academic All-Region Team

NEWTON, Mass. – Senior men's lacrosse goalie Kyle Cordaro (Worcester, Mass.) was named to the 2014 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-Region Team on Thursday afternoon.

This is the first time in the history of the Mount Ida men's lacrosse program that any player has been recognized by the NEILA.  Members of the NEILA team are all graduating seniors who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field of play.

In order to be selected for this team, student-athletes must be in their final year of eligibility, have posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and be a significant enough contributor on the field that they were nominated for conference or regional recognition.

Cordaro, a transfer from Sacred Heart University as a sophomore, received his degree in Criminal Justice on Friday, May 16th at Mount Ida College's Commencement ceremonies.  He finished his Mount Ida career with a 3.30 grade point average, while capping off his senior campaign second in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with 206 saves.

On behalf of the Mount Ida College men's lacrosse program and the Mount Ida athletic department, congratulations to Kyle on this remarkable recognition and best of luck in all future endeavors.
