NEWTON, Mass. -- Senior Kyle Cordaro (Worcester, Mass.) was recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as the Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the second time this season.
The award was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office and Commissioner Joe Walsh.
Cordaro posted a 5.33 goals against average in a 1-1 week for Mount Ida. He made 15 saves in the Mustang's 6-4 loss at Lasell, keeping the game within striking distance with some very difficult stops. He was also stellar in Sasturday's 16-8 win over Albertus Magnus, allowing just three goals in the first half of the game before being relieved by his teammates.
With a 66.9 save percentage for the season, Cordaro ranks seventh in the nation in Division III, and is third among goalies who have played more than 400 minutes.
The veteran netminder won the award on March 3rd for his work during the opening week of the season.
He and the Mustangs will take the field in non-conference action on Wednesday night when they welcome Mitchell to Alumni Field for a 6:30 pm tilt.
