NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida College freshman defensive back Theodore Campbell (Boston, Mass.) has been named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Rookie of the Week after his performance during last Saturday's home game against SUNY Maritime. 

Campbell stepped into a starting role to replace veteran Chris Medeiros (Pelham, N.H.) at the linebacker position, and immediately made his impact felt all over the field. The rookie led the Mustangs with 12.5 tackles, including eight solo tackles, and 3.5 tackles for a loss. He also broke up a pass and was seemignly in on every important defensive play.

Campbell and the Mustangs will finish their 2016 season on Saturday when they host Husson at 12:00 pm at Alumni Field. The Mustangs will be looking to knock off the Eagles, who have already clinched the conference championship, and improve on their 4-2 ECFC record.
