NEWTON, Mass. -- With Mount Ida on a three-game win streak, the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) has recognized senior Sean Chinova (Watertown, Conn.) as the Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday by the conference office.
Chinova was a key part of the Mustang's 55-21 win over Anna Maria, which improved their ECFC record to 4-1. The linebacker's biggest play came in the fourth quarter, when he intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.
Earlier in the game, another play by Chinova led to a Mount Ida score as he blocked an Anna Maria point after attempt, which teammate Micahel Whitsett (Chicopee, Mass.) ran back 75 yards to the end zone.
Throughout the game, Chinova racked up 8 tackles, one sack, and one pass breakup as well.
Mount Ida (4-4, 4-1 ECFC) hosts their final two home games of the season, starting on Saturday, November 5th at 12:00 pm when SUNY Maritime comes to town.
