NEWTON, Mass. -- Michael Mazza (Oakhurst, N.J.), 20, a junior criminal justice major and member of the Mount Ida College football team passed away on Monday afternoon.  The entire Mount Ida community is saddened at his tragic loss. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home. The address is 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, N.J. 07740.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 29th at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity RC Church. Prospect Avenue, Long Branch, N.J.

The Associated Student Government and the Athletic Department have arranged for buses to take Mount Ida students and staff members to the wake on Sunday and return to campus that same day. Buses will depart from campus at 7:00 am and will return at some point that afternoon.  

Students must sign up no later than 9:00 am tomorrow, Friday, February 26 in order for us to solidify arrangements. Please utilize the following link to sign up for the bus to the wake.

If you have a card or a remembrance that you would like delivered to the Mazza family, please deliver it to Donna Johnston in the Student Affairs suite no later than 4:30 pm on Friday and it will be delivered by Laura Deveau.

Michael was a three-year member of the Mustang football team as an offensive lineman. Before Mount Ida, he attended Ocean Township High School in Oakhurst, New Jersey.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
