KNIBBS COMPETES IN D3 SENIOR CLASSIC FOR NORTH TEAM

Mount Ida College senior defensive end and 2011 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Co-Defensive Player-of-the-Year A.J. Knibbs (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) competed in the Division III Senior Classic in Salem, Virginia last Friday evening at Washington and Lee University.  Knibbs, who competed with the North squad, had a solid game with six tackles and a half a sack in the contest.  The South would eventually prove victorious with a 37-21 win.  Knibbs, who was a first team All-ECFC selection for the second straight year this past season, was competing in this invitation only contest for the first time through his career.

Three ECFC players were in attendance including Keith Barnes, linebacker from Maritime College (SUNY) and defensive back Tony Tatum from Gallaudet University.

The D3 Senior Classic has been the premier all-star experience for Division III football players since its inception in 2009.

The D3 Senior Classic brings together some of Division III's best to Salem, VA each December to compete in a North versus South format All-Star game. Each year, the D3 Senior Classic provides its participants and their families with an unmatched experience including a banquet to pay tribute to their stellar football careers.
