PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Mount Ida College made its second consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's tennis tournament appearance on Wednesday evening and ended their season with a 5-0 loss to Johnson & Wales University at Centre Court.
With Mount Ida only able to bring four players to the match, the two teams only contested doubles competition, and the Wildcats earned the clinching win by getting their fourth and fifth points at the top two doubles spots.
For the Mustangs, Rebecca Levy (Plymouth, Mass.) and Jenna Jarman (Auburn, N.Y.) ended a strong season of playing together at first doubles with an 8-1 defeat at the hands of JWU's Morgan Thompson (Fargo, N.D.) and Victoria Pizzulo (Lafayette, N.J.).
Yuliana Chairez (Waltham, Mass.) and Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.) were also able to win a game at second doubles, before bowing out to Emily Glass (Sterling, Conn.) and Delaney Macchirole (Greenport, N.Y.), 8-1.
The Mustangs finish the season 2-9 and with a 1-5 record in the GNAC.
