NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida College ended their 2015 regular season with a pair of losses and now will prepare for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's tennis tournament. 

The Mustangs fell to Johnson and Wales on Saturday in Providence, R.I. by a score of 9-0 and dropped a similar decision home on Sunday afternoon to Suffolk.

Mount Ida has earned the #6 seed and will return to Providence this coming Wednesday, October 21st, for a 3:00 PM 1st round contest against the Wildcats.

JWU 9, Mount Ida 0

Johnson & Wales only dropped two games while winning all three doubles match. At number two, the tandem of Victoria Pizzulo (Lafayette, NJ) and Bridget Bertone (Wayne, NJ) blanked Danielle Barnabe (Warwick, R.I.) and Yuliana Chairez (Waltham, Mass.) 8-0.

That was the same score for Erika Toman (York, Pa.) and Danielle Leung (Lincroft, NJ) at number three in their win over Brianna Kobel (Bellingham, Mass.) and Mackenzie Bumpus (Wilmington, Mass.). At number one, Emily Glass (Sterling, Conn.) and Delaney Macchirole (Greenport, NY), rolled to an 8-2 decision against Katyln Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.) and Rebecca Levy (Plymouth, Mass.).

The Wildcats secured the team victory by winning three singles matches without dropping a game. At number three, Taylor Klein (Johnson, NY) beat Bumpus, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Samantha Gambino (Middletown, Conn.) blanked Chairez at number five while Lauren Torre (New Fairfield, Conn.) shutout Barnabe at number four.

At number six, Eliana Aponte (Wayne, NJ) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Renee Randazzo (Gloucester, Mass.). Glass swept the first set then got a break in the second to win 6-0, 6-4 versus Jesse. Completing the shutout was Morgan Thompson (Fargo, ND) at number one as she beat Levy, 6-2, 6-3.

Suffolk 9, Mount Ida 0

Suffolk's clean sheet was earned with four golden matches and just two games lost. Abby Trigilio and Isabel Rathlev got things going with an 8-0 victory over Yuliana Chairez (Waltham, Mass.) and Danielle Barnabe (Warwick, R.I.) in the second doubles slot. Valentina Medina and Rebecca Eshoo quickly followed as the sophomore and senior took down Rebecca Levy (Plymouth, Mass.) and Mackenzie Bumpus (Wilmington, Mass.), 8-1. 

The Rams' racquets did not skip a beat on the singles courts as Rathlev notched the first golden match of the afternoon in the third position over Chariez. Jacquelyn Nakamura defeated Barnabe, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4, before Medina notched her seventh golden match of 2015 and fifth straight, as the San Andres, Colombia product bested Levy. 

Elena Cisneros wrapped up competition with a golden match against Bumpus playing at No. 2.
