NEWTON, Mass. -- The Mount Ida college women's tennis program suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Eastern Nazarene on Thursday in their season opener at Mount Ida Tennis Courts.
Freshman Jennifer Lord (Fall River, Mass.) was the highlight for the Mustangs, winning three games in the second set at first singles.
Lord picked up the only game victories of the day for Mount Ida, as the Lions swept the three doubles matches 8-0 and the other five singles slots with 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Up next, the Mustangs will host Becker on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
Eastern Nazarene begins conference play with a road match at Curry September 7.
