2015 Mount Ida Women's Lacrosse Season Highlights

NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida College rattled off three straight wins to end the regular season and earned a #5 seed in the conference tournament in 2015.

The Mustangs made their fifth trip to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) postseason in the program's six seasons, and secured a #5 seed thanks to a 20-11 win over Saint Joseph (CT) on Senior Day.

In that game, senior Amanda Bowen (Randolph, Vt.) scored nine times to become the first ever Mount Ida lacrosse player, male or female, to reach the career 200-goal plateau. 

Bowen was named GNAC First Team All-Conference for the third consecutive season, capping a final season in whcih she led the conference with 67 goals and was second in the GNAC with 84 points. During the 2015 season, Bowen became the all-time leading goal scorer in Mount Ida history and set a new program record with 12 points (10 goals, 2 assists) in a win over Becker. 

As a team, the Mustangs posted a 4-5 record in the conference and returned to the GNAC quarterfinals where they fell to Emmanuel in the opening round.

Off the field, the women's lacrosse team saw sophomores Nicole Kineen (Salem, N.H.) and Rebecca Beaulieu (Weare, N.H.) and junior Briana Barker (Westerly, R.I.) earn GNAC Academic All-Conference standing with grade point averages above 3.25.
