DANBURY, Conn. -- Fresh off her regular season finale which saw senior captain Amanda Bowen (Randolph, Vt.) tally nine goals, Bowen has once again been recognized in the headlines, this time by the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC).
Bowen was voted as the Corvias ECAC Offensive Player of the Week after a week which included her final two home games in the green and white. During that span, Bowen recorded 20 goals and added two assists, along with eight ground balls and six draw controls.
She set the program record for points in a game and tied the school mark for goals in a game with a 10-goal, 2 assist performance to help the Mustangs beat the Hawks of Becker College, 19-13. On Saturday, with the team celebrating Senior Day, she scored nine more goals to reach the 200-career goal plateau and lead Mount Ida to a 20-11 win over the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph.
Bowen had already this season set the program record for career goals, and was the career leader in points and assists coming into her senior season.
This marks two straight days that Bowen has been recognized for her play throughout her senior season for Mount Ida.
On Monday, Bowen was recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as the Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.
The first Mount Ida lacrosse player to score 200 goals in a season, Bowen will have a chance to add to her total when the Mustangs make a return trip to the GNAC tournament on Wednesday.
Fifth seeded Mount Ida will travel to Emmanuel for a 7:00 pm game against the #4 seeded Saints.
