NEWTON, Mass. – Senior Molly Sheppard (Brookhaven, N.Y.) and junior Amanda Bowen (Randolph, Vt.) were both recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) today as they were both voted as All-Conference players for the 2014 season.
Bowen was voted to the GNAC All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year as attack, while Sheppard earned her second All-Conference nod with a Second Team selection.
Bowen, the 2012 GNAC Rookie of the Year, notched a team high 65 points on 40 goals and 25 assists in her junior season in a Mustang uniform. Bowen's 25 assists set a single season record for the Mustangs.
In three years, Bowen has become the program's all-time leader in assists and points. Bowen's 65 points this year upped her program leading total to 172 with one year remaining in the Green and White.
Sheppard, a 2012 GNAC All-Conference First Team member, was voted to the GNAC All-Conference 2nd team this year after tallying a team leading 52 goals which was good for 4th in the GNAC. Sheppard ends her four year career having amassed a total of 134 goals and 33 assists good for 167 points which are both second all-time.
Both Sheppard and Bowen have been a huge part of the Mount Ida women's lacrosse programs over the course of the last few years and their success has been recognized by the GNAC.
