The Mount Ida College women's lacrosse team captured their fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over hosting Anna Maria College Saturday winning by a score of 23-15 in Paxton, Massachusetts. 

Mustang freshman Amanda Bowen (Randolph, VT) scored a game-high 10 points (8 goals, 2 assists), teammates Molly Sheppard and Alexandria Milot each had six and five goals respectively. Netminder Kayla Musty made eight saves for the win.

Amanda Hevy (North Brookfield, Mass) and Katie Schebel (Ludlow, Mass.) each scored 6 goals for the Anna Maria.  AMC's record drops to 1-8, 0-6 GNAC while the Mustangs improve to 4-8, 4-3 GNAC).

Schebel added two helpers to have a team-high 8 points while senior Mackenzie Coakley (Millbury, Mass.) chipped in two goals and Sandy Acosta (Lawrence, Mass.) found the twine once. Freshman Rachel Kniager (Hopkinton, Mass.) had an assist on the day and goalkeeper Marlena Donjacour (San Francisco, CA) made 12 saves in the loss.

After spotting the Mustang's a 3-0 lead the AMCATS bounced back tying the game on a pair of goals by Hevy and a single tally by Schebel. A Mackenzie Coakley score at 20:24 and the game was tied again at 4 apiece. Bowen led Mount Ida on a 12-4 run, scoring 6 of her 8 goals, to end the half and take a 16-8 lead into the locker room. Heavy and Schebel split the AMCAT scores.

Mount Ida opened the second half with four straight scores to maintain a 20-8 lead.  The AMCATS mounted a valiant comeback scoring 5 unanswered goals. Sandy Acosta led off the attack with an unassisted tally then Hevy and Schebel each had a pair of 8 meter goals to cut the lead to 20-13. Mustang's junior Alexandria Milot followed with a hat trick of goals to put the game away.

The Mustangs will travel to St. Joseph's College (ME) this coming Tuesday with game time slated for 4:00 p.m.
