NASHUA, N.H. – Mount Ida College women's basketball earned their second consecutive win on Saturday afternoon with an 82-62 victory over host Daniel Webster College in non-conference action at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.
Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.) scored a game-high 21 points, and Angelique Martinez (Taunton, Mass.) posted a double-double with 17 points and the same number of rebounds.
The win was the second in a row for the Mustangs (2-3) while DWC dropped to 0-3, despite 21 junior guard Ashley England (Old Town, Maine) scoring 21 points of her own.
Jesse and Martinez – who added a game-high six assists - were part of four players in double figures for the Mustangs as Stephanie Champoux (Tewksbury, Mass.) notched 13 points and Shanell Nardone (Tewksbury, Mass.) picked up 11 points and five assists. Imani Bumpus (West Hartford, Conn.) also chipped in with eight points and 10 boards for the winners.

Mount Ida never trailed in picking up their second all-time win in the series. The Mustangs used a big inside presence to control the glass with a 57-37 rebounding advantage and outscored the Eagles 40-22 in the paint.
The visitors shot 43-percent to DWC's 29-percent in the opening half and led 43-30 at the break, but pulled away behind 51-percent shooting in the second and never let the Eagles closer than 14 throughout the second period.
Mount Ida will face a big test before Thanksgiving when they travel to UMass Lowell of America East (NCAA Division I) on Monday. Tip-off at the Costello Athletic Center is set for 7:00 pm.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday as they head across town to face Rivier at 7:30 p.m.
