NEWTON, Mass. -- Freshman Angelique Martinez (Taunton, Mass.) finshed the 2014 season the same way she started it - as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

Along the way, Martinez picked up five awards in her first season as a member of the Mustangs.

To end her freshman year, Martinez turned in back to back double-doubles, giving her ten for the season, and led Mount Ida to their first conference win of the year with an 11-point, 16-rebound effort against Simmons.

Earlier in the week, she put up 10 points and grabbed 13 boards in a road game at Saint Joseph's (ME).

For the year, Martinez averaged 11.5 rebounds per game, far and away the best in the conference. She averaged a double-double with 10.2 points per game, and was also tied for fourth in the conferece with 35 blocks, 1.5 blocks per game.
