NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida freshman guard Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.) turned in a superb week across three games for the Mustangs, and was rewarded by being named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
Jesse turned in three consistent performances, capping her week with an-18 point effort in a conference road game at Albertus Magnus. Jesse led the Mustangs with six assists to go with eight points to the start the week against Anna Maria, then scored in double-digits to go with five rebounds and three more helpers against Suffolk.
The freshman point guard averaged 12 points and nearly five rebounds, as well as over 3 assists per game this week.
Jesse earned the same honor in the third week of the season, on December 2, 2013.
She and the Mustangs will host their rivals from Lasell College on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at Mount Ida Athletic Center. Fans are asked to wear pink to support the Play 4 Kay initiative and the fight against breast cancer.
