Champoux is Third Mustang Named Rookie of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. -- Not to be outdone by her teammates, Stephanie Champoux (Tewksbury, Mass.) has become the third Mount Ida College women's basketball player to be named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week.

Champoux averaged 12.0 points per game this week, including netting a career-high 17 points on 8-for-16 shooting in a home game against Pine Manor on January 9th.

In that game, the freshman guard also had three steals, two assists and three rebounds, and she had five thefts total over two non-conference games.

Champoux joins Angelique Martinez (Taunton, Mass.) and Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.), who have each been honored by the GNAC with the same award.

She will lead the Mustangs into an exciting but difficult test tonight, as they will tip-off in Lowell against the Division 1 Riverhawks at 6:00 pm.
