Providence, R.I. -- With a pair of 3-0 defeats to hosts Johnson & Wales and Emmanuel College, Mount Ida's men's volleyball season came to a close on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs finished their 2014 campaign with a record of 8-21, and a 2-14 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
Game 1: Johnson & Wales 3, Mount Ida 0
Brady Rodriguez (Longwood, Fla.) notched a team-high six kills and grabbed 10 assists, but Mount Ida fell 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.
Senior Nick Schibi (Torrington, Conn.) added four kills, while James Ames (W. Hartford, Conn.) and Dennis Miranda (Hialeah, Fla.) slammed three kills each.
Sophomore Jimmy Wessel (DeKalb, Ill.) led Mount Ida with seven digs defensively.
Game 2: Emmanuel 3, Mount Ida 0
Rodriguez had six more kills and nine assists, while Ames had four kills and a service ace.
Miranda contributed four kills and Wessel dug out four balls in a losing effort.
