NEWTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Brady Rodriguez (Longwood, Fla.) grabbed the first Great Northeast Atheltic Conference (GNAC) honor for the Mount Ida men's volleyball team, as he was named Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Rodriguez was effective in all facets of the game this week, helping the Mustangs to an undefeated campaign. With Rodriguez's help, the Mustangs earned a straight set victory over Lesley College, then defeated CCRI and Saint Joseph's Brooklyn at a Regis College hosted tournament.
Rodriguez led the team with 22 kills while also assisting on 61 points in two matches played as a setter. Rodriguez opened the week by tallying five kills and 16 assists, to go with six service aces against Lesley, then led the Mustangs with 17 kills and five more aces in two games at the Regis event.
He and the Mustangs will be back on their home court on Wednesday afternoon when they entertain Daniel Webster College at 6:00 pm.
