Tuesday, March 5, 2013 (Newton, Massachusetts) - The Mount Ida College men's volleyball team dropped their seventh straight loss and their sixth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss against hosting rival Lasell College Tuesday evening falling 3-1 by scores of 15-25, 22-25 and 21-25. The Mustangs saw a game-high 11 kills on 25 attempts with seven errors adding five digs.
Mount Ida falls to an overall record of 4-12 still searching for their first league win at 0-6 while the Lasers improve to 6-5 for 2013 with a conference standing of 1-1.
Along with a solid performance from Hastings, The Mustangs saw six kills on 21 attempts adding nine digs from freshman middle hitter Justin Rhoden (Corona, CA/Corona Centennial). Freshman setter Brady Rodriguez (Longwood, FL/Bishop Moore) dished out 15 assists with four service aces. Junior outside hitter Nick Schibi (Torrington, CT/O. Wolcott Regional) added three kills respectively.
Mount Ida men's volleyball will travel to Western Massachusetts this weekend to compete in the Springfield College tournament starting this Friday.
