MEN'S SOCCER GIVES UP TWO GOALS LATE, FALL 2-1 TO LYNX

The Mount Ida College men's soccer team dropped their second non-conference bid of the 2011 season this past Sunday at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts falling 2-1 in a physical battle.  The Mustangs slump to an overall record of 0-2 and have yet to compete in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest yet this year.

After a quiet first half on either side, the Mustangs got on the board first on junior Ryan Graham's (Wichita, KS/Wichita East) first score of the season for the 1-0 advantage.  Graham redirected a pass in front of the net sliding the shot into the right corner of the net in the 59th minute of play.

With less than 10 minutes to play in the contest the Lynx knotted the score at 1-1 on an indirect kick.  Lynx junior Ari Sinanis (Guilford, CT/Guilford) fed a cross from 25 yards on the right wing, found Christian Domingo cutting to the right of Mustang keeper freshman Mat Pils (Monroe, CT/Masuk), and Domingo headed the pass past Pils to tie the game late.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs, Domingo burned them once again not even two minutes later on an identical play from another well placed indirect kick from Sinanis for the 2-1 lead and eventually would become the final in a heartbreaking loss for Mount Ida.

Pils denied three shots for the Mustangs facing 13 Lesley shots.  There were five cards issued throughout the contest, four given out to Mount Ida.

The Mustangs will host their first home contest this coming Wednesday against non-conference Eastern Nazarene College with game time slated for 3:30 p.m.
