Three players scored goals to propel the Mount Ida College
men’s soccer team to a 3-1 win over North Atlantic Conference
foe Thomas College this afternoon.
With the victory, the Mustangs preserved their unbeaten record
versus NAC opponents.
Both squads went scoreless until the tenth minute, when freshman
Graham Perrault (Shelbourne, Vt./Bridgton

collegiate goal. It gave the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage. Classmate
Chris Meuer (Warminster, Pa./William
Tennent) scored just over ten minutes later to put
Mount Ida in front 2-0.
Thomas got on the scoreboard with just over seven minutes
remaining, as freshman Tom Desjardins (Fort Kent, Maine/Fort Kent)
scored off a feed from Tim Costa to slice to deficit to 2-1.
Junior Joe Kassoy (Glastonbury,
Conn./Glastonbury) tallied the first goal of his
career less than one minute later to ice things for the
Mustangs.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brian Leighton (Turner,
Maine/Leavitt Area) stopped four shots en route to
his sixth win of the year. Junior Russell Beckwith (North Berwick,
Maine/Noble) took the loss after making one save.
Mount Ida (6-3-1, 2-0-1) returns to action on Wednesday, when it
