As an assistant coach at Mount Ida, Cerone has been instrumental in the recruiting, scouting, and coaching of the basketball program over the last four years.  Cerone previously coached at UMass-Boston for two seasons and prior to UMass-Boston, he was an assistant coach at Hanover High School where he helped his alma mater to two Division III state tournament appearances. During his collegiate playing career at Wheaton College (MA), Cerone helped the Lyons to an ECAC Championship and an appearance in the NEWMAC championship game. In 2009, he graduated from UMass-Boston with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, while also earning a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Endicott College in 2012. In high school, Cerone was a standout student-athlete, where he scored 1,000 points and was named a Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic team honoree twice.
