WINTHROP, Mass. – Both the men's and women's basketball teams at Mount Ida College ended their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) drought by each placing student-athletes on the 2016 All-Conference teams, which were announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.

A pair of juniors, Angelique Martinez (Taunton, Mass.) on the women's side and Ethan Dujon (Warwick, R.I.) for the men's team, were each named to their respective Third Teams as voted on by the coaches from across the conference.

Martinez, who set the all-time rebounding record in Mount Ida basketball history this season, is the first women's basketball player to be named to a GNAC All-Conference team since 2012-13 (Evebonee Acosta), while Dujon puts men's basketball back on the GNAC All-Conference teams for the first time since Isaiah Benjamin earned a selection in 2011-12.

Dujon was second on the Mustangs in scoring this year, averaging 12.7 points per game and in rebounding, with 5.1 caroms per contest as Mount Ida men's hoops earned the #6 seed and a back to back appearance in the GNAC quarterfinals.

The junior guard shot at a 47.7 percent clip from the field, good for tenth in the conference and tops on the Mustangs. His shooting percentage and total points (305) were the most in his three-year Mustang career, as was his average of 20.7 points per forty minutes.

Dujon scored in double-figures in 18 of the 24 contests in which he appeared, including scoring 23 points against Saint Joseph's College to guide the Mustangs to their first win ever at Harold Alfond Center in Standish, Maine.

With 741 career points, the crafty shooting guard will look to put his names in the banners in his final season as a Mustang as a member of the 100 point club.

The junior captain on the women's side, Martinez led the GNAC in rebounding for the third consecutive season, averaging 12.7 boards per game to go along with 15.3 points which was good for sixth in the GNAC.

Martinez also led the conference and was 7th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (5.2) and defensive rebounds (7.5) per game. Her 15 double-doubles put her 17th in the nation in that category, and she was also top-12 in the nation in total rebounds and rebounds per game, while slotting in at fourth in the GNAC with 1.8 blocks per contest.

Named the Corvias GNAC Player of the Week back on February 8th, Martinez was also recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) in the same week as the Corvias ECAC Division III New England Women's Basketball Player of the Week on February 9th.  She set the rebounding mark back on February 6th against non-conference opponent Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.) in which she grabbed her 872nd rebound in the opening ten minutes of play.

In just three seasons in a Mustang uniform, Martinez has amassed a school record 918 rebounds, with 384 of those being offensive rebounds which is also a school benchmark. Martinez is also nearing the 1,000 point club as she has totaled 953 points in her career to date. With one season left to play, Martinez will surely find herself in the rafters as she will surpass 1,000 career rebounds and points during the 2016-17 season.

Sophomore Brendan Cunningham (Quincy, Mass.) and junior Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass.) also represented the Mustangs on the men's and women's basketball All-Sportsmanship Teams as selected by their head coaches.
