NEWTON, Mass. -- Freshman guard Jahari Wright (Austin, Texas) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for his role in Mount Ida's GNAC win last Tuesday against Emmanuel.

Wright hit four three-pointers to total 12 points, helping Mount Ida to a 74-68 win over the Saints, their first victory in the conference in this young season.

Wright also pitched in two assists, three steals, a block and three rebounds in 25 minutes of play, while shooting 50% from long distance.

The Mustangs improve to 1-2 in the conference this year and will return to GNAC play on January 7th when they host Rivier at 6:00 pm.
