  • Minicucci, Hemstock Receive Back-to-Back All-Conference Selections

    NEWTON, Mass. -- The Mount Ida field hockey team received three all-conference selections after their tremendous 2017 campaign. Senior Lexi Minicucci (Westfield, Mass.) was the program's first ever first team selection, junior Sarah Hemstock (Northford, Conn.) received back-to-back second team honors, and senior Emily Salls (Springvale, Mass.) was named to the all-sportsmanship team.

The Mustangs finish the season with a 10-8 overall record and a 3-4 record in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action.

    NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida field hockey capped off a terrific week, which included the first playoff win in program history, with two selections Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly awards team, presented by Corvias. Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Ryan (Livermore Falls, Maine) was named goalkeeper of the week, while freshman Jennie Morey (Claremont, N.H.) was tabbed as rookie of the week.
  • Field Hockey Wins First Playoff Game in Program History

    PROVIDENCE, RI – The Mount Ida field hockey team avenged an earlier 3-1 loss to Johnson & Wales (RI) by downing the Wildcats 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal action on Saturday afternoon. Both teams struggled to find their offensive footing and it was not until the 66th minute that the Mustangs were able to break through with the ultimate game-winner. 
  • Mustangs Clinch Playoff Birth with Win Over Pride

    WESTON, Mass. -- A win was all that the Mustangs needed to qualify next week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference postseason tournament and they were able to topple the Regis (Mass.) Pride 1-0 to qualify for the third year in a row. Lexi Minicucci (Westfield, Mass.) had what would be the game-winning goal off a first-half corner from Sarah Hemstock (Northford, Conn.). Minicucci's goal continues her offensive dominance in the GNAC as she leads in both goals (21), shots (104), and total points (49). 
  • First Ever Senior Class Ends Home Careers with Win Over Blazers

    NEWTON, Mass -- Senior Day at Alumni Field saw the Mount Ida field hockey team take down the visiting Elms College Blazers 2-0 in Thursday night action. The Mustangs held the first ever senior day for field as this class of seniors were the first to compete for the Green and White. Seniors Kerra Denny (Burrillville, R.I), Lexi Minicucci (Westfield, Mass.), Cregan Callahan (Diamond Point, N.Y.), Emily Salls (Springvale, Maine), and Emily McConnell (Dracut, Mass.) helped to build the program from the ground up and have left a lasting impact for future Mustangs.

    PROVIDENCE, RI – Junior Gabriella Catania (West Milford, NJ) factored into all three Johnson & Wales (RI) University goals as the Wildcats picked up a GNAC victory on Saturday taking down the visiting Mount Ida College Mustangs 3-1. The Mustangs fall to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in GNAC action, while the Wildcats move to 4-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

    Paxton, Mass. -- Freshman Ema Atherton (Sanbornton, N.H.) tallied a goal and three assists Saturday morning to lead Mount Ida College to a 4-1 victory over Anna Maria College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference field hockey game at AMCAT Field. Junior Sarah Hemstock (Northford, Conn.) added a pair of goals in the win for the Mustangs. Mount Ida moves to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the GNAC, while Anna Maria falls to 3-10 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
