Steve D'Arcy served as the head coach for the Mount Ida College men’s soccer team for 21 successful seasons, dating back to Mount Ida's time as a Junior College.
Coach D’Arcy brought three National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Regional championships to the schoolalong with four runner-up appearances and three NJCAA Northeast District Championships. D’Arcy compiled an overall record of 150-32-17 (.796 winning percentage) during his time in the NJCAA from 1989 to 1998 before the college made the switch to NCAA Division III. In 1997, D’Arcy and the Mustangs compiled an impressive 19-2-4 overall record, good for fourth in the nation in NJCAA Division I play.
During his 11 year run in NCAA Division III, D’Arcy captured three North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championships in ’99, ’00, and ’05 with three NCAA post season tournament appearances. During his eight year bid (’99-’06) in the NAC, D’Arcy’s teams qualified for the conference post season tournament every single year. In 2007, the Mount Ida College athletic department made the switch to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). D’Arcy and the Mustangs made an immediate impact in the GNAC, qualifying for the conference post season tournament in their first season. D’Arcy and his squad eventually snatched a tournament berth every year from ’07-’09 making it as far as the semifinal round in 2008 against Norwich University.
D’Arcy showcased an overall record of 255-113-34 (.679). D’Arcy’s overall NCAA record stands at 105-81-20 (.529) and an overall NJCAA record of 150-32-17. D’Arcy is one of the most successful coaches in Mount Ida College history named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Coach-of-the-Year once in 1999 and was also named Mount Ida College Coach-of-the-Year three times in ’99, ’01, and ’02.
