The 2006 and 2009 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year, Brett was a four-year member of the Mount Ida College men's lacrosse team, including a captain in his senior year. He is the only Mustang men's lacrosse player to have more than 300 career points, and he was a member of four consecutive NAC Championship teams, including the 2007 team that made the program's first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament and was inducted into the Mount Ida Hall of Fame in 2014. Brett's career got off to a quick start, as he earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2006 in addition to his Player of the Year honors and the first of four consecutive First Team All-Conference selections.
As a student, Brett studied business management, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in the subject in 2009. During his senior year, Brett became an intern at Affinity Marketing Group, and was hired as an Account Manager after graduation. He began giving back to Mount Ida in 2010, when he joined the Alumni Council, and remains an active member in the group presently. In 2012, he was promoted at Affinity Marketing Group to Director of Marketing. Arthur J Gallagher & Co recently acquired Affinity Marketing Group and Brett is currently their Director of Marketing.
