Mount Ida College alumnus Christina Nikolaidis (Bourne, Massachusetts) ’02-‘06 was selected as the 2011 Mount Ida College Hall-of-Fame inductee.  Nikolaidis, who graduated from Mount Ida College with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2006, currently works for the Sherriff’s department at the Plymouth Country House of Correction and presently attends Cape Cod Community College in the school of Dental Hygiene.

Nikolaidis was described by her teammates during her playing days on the volleyball court as a fierce competitor.  Nikolaidis led the Mustangs to four consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) titles from 2002-2005 that included three NCAA post-season tournament appearances.  She was named NAC Player-of-the-Year twice, was honored with NAC first team all-conference honors ever year she played and was also selected as a NAC all-tournament player three times.  A three year team captain from 2003-2005, Nikolaidis led her team to an impressive 31-2 overall NAC record throughout her four year tenure with the program.  She was named the team’s Most-Valuable-Player in 2003.

“There has never been a more focused, determined, and dedicated competitor to ever wear a Mustang uniform,” said Nikolaidis's head coach, Skip Tately.  “Christina’s strong work ethic, knowledge of the game, and her refusal to give up made her the best player on the court in every contest she played in.”

Nikolaidis's name appears in many of the offensive and defensive statistical records for the Mount Ida women’s volleyball program.  She is second all-time in kills (853) and number one overall in kills per set (2.76).  She held the record for digs in a career for half a decade, compiling 1,349 total digs adding 4.37 digs per game, good for fourth all-time.  Nikolaidis is third overall in points (1,099.0) as well as third all-time in points per set (3.56).
