Who is your favorite pro athlete?

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. Brady’s the best quarterback in the NFL, without question.

Why did you choose Mount Ida?

It’s one of the only schools where you can play a sport that you love and major in something that you are passionate about, like dental hygiene. Mount Ida was always my first choice because of the dental hygiene and soccer programs.

What is your favorite moment so far as a Mustang student-athlete?

The first time I played in a full game at Norwich. It was one of my strongest games and I finally felt confident in playing 110 minutes as a player and in my knee which was in a brace.

What’s your favorite food?

Buffalo chicken anything. And pineapple.

When not playing your sport, what do you like to do for fun?

I love swimming. I love the beach. I like to hang out with my friends. I have also gotten into yoga here, so I go to yoga every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I am obsessed with country music. Everyone on my team hates it, but I love it.

What would be your dream job?

I want to be a dental hygienist in Hawaii so that I could enjoy the beach as well.

What’s the best thing about the Division 3 experience?

When you play a Division 3 sport, everyone is playing for the love of the game. They truly want to be there and work hard. In other divisions, there may be a different motivation for people who are playing a sport.

Who is someone that has been an inspiration or a role model in your life?

My older sister. She has always been someone I looked up to and someone I always went to for advice. She played Division 3 basketball at Keene State, so she is an athlete like me. She is also my best friend.

What are three words that you think your teammates would use to describe you?

Loud, hard-working, and supportive.

Matt Greenman

Year of Graduation: 2017
Sport: Football
Position: Wide Receiver
Major: Business Administration
Hometown: Portsmouth, R.I.

Who is your favorite pro athlete?

Julian Edelman. I play a little like him, and he proves that a little white wide receiver can get the job done.

Why did you choose Mount Ida?

I chose Mount Ida as my first option because of how Coach (Mike) Landers was during my visit. He was sincere and honest when talking to me. I also like the small aspect of the school, like the 1 one 1 with professors. I like having a small group of friends that I knew I was going to see every day.

What is your favorite moment so far as a Mustang student-athlete?

Two years ago, during one of our practices when we let seniors play different positions, (offensive lineman) Andrew Miller played quarterback and threw a perfect bomb to (wide receiver Jordan) Hyman for a touchdown. Miller took like three laps around the field to celebrate.

What’s your favorite food?

Sloppy joes.

When not playing your sport, what do you like to do for fun?

Playing ping pong. I love fishing, deep sea and fresh. I also love to surf.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I have hops for a white dude. Nobody expects it, but I can jump wicked high and it surprises people.

What would be your dream job?

I would love to be a travelling animal photographer. One of those guys who goes around the world to try to get those super high quality pictures of animals.

What’s the best thing about the Division 3 experience?

I was also getting recruited by some D1 schools like Yale and BC after a good workout at the BC camp, but a lot of D1 and D2 schools don’t give you the time of day. The D3 schools were staying in touch and calling me to make sure I was still interested. I had an opportunity to start and I was close enough here to have my family come see me play. Everyone’s pretty close together, even opponents on the field and you make a lot more relationships. That’s fun to do – to meet dudes that you might see after football. The opportunities from D3 was what brought me in to Mount Ida.

Who is someone that has been an inspiration or a role model in your life?

My cousin Justin Boiani. He’s a self-made person, raised by my grandparents. Taught me the game of football when I was little. He taught me to never give up. Justin is a workhorse, and a lot of my pride is based on my effort. I go 110 percent just like he did. He’s a good respectful dude who works his butt off and he made himself into a successful well known person.

What are three words that you think your teammates would use to describe you?

Knucklehead, outgoing, comedian.
