David Nabs Defensive Player of the Week Honors

NEWTON, Mass. -- Mount Ida senior linebacker Josh David (Sandown, N.H.) was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) defensive player of the week following his 18-tackle performance in the win over Dean College. A defensive captain, David has filled the stat-sheet all season, but this weekend made his mark on the record books with the most tackles of his career and tying the all-time Mustang record of 18.

A beast all over the field, David accounted for 11 solo tackles and assisted on seven more. The 14-7 win over the Dean Bulldogs saw the Mustangs make a number of goal-line stops, led by David and his interior pressure. The senior linebacker continues to impress as the looks to leave Mount Ida as one of the top defensive players in the program's history.

David and the Mustangs return home to Alumni Field this Saturday as they take on Maritime (N.Y.) at 1:00pm.
