Four members of the Mount Ida College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) volunteered for the 14th Annual Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics in Massachusetts. The fundraising event took place at Nantasket Beach in Hull Massachusetts. The Polar Plunge was established in 1999 as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts. So far, Plungers have worked together to raise over 2.6 million dollars for the Athletes of Special Olympics Massachusetts.
Mustang women’s basketball senior center and SAAC President Katie Morvan (Northbridge, MA/Northbridge), senior football tight end and SAAC Vice President James Wenz (Bayport, NY/Bayport-Blue Point), senior football linebacker Kyle Lawson (Middlesex, VT/U-32) and freshman men’s soccer defender Peter Sliva (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) represented Mount Ida as the volunteers.
