Tuesday, June 13, 2012 - Mount Ida College football and basketball public address announcer Michael Riley had the opportunity last Thursday evening to announce the Boston Red Sox versus the Detroit Tigers game at Fenway Park trying out to replace the late Carl Beane who recently passed away. Riley, who has been behind the microphone for Mustang football contests for over eight years, was one of many to try their voice out over the speakers around historic Fenway Park. Mike was featured in an article (below) in the Boston Globe in Wednesday’s edition that is available for reading below.
Mike has a very impressive resume currently serving as the public address announcer for the Red Sox single A affiliate Lowell Spinners. He was on the microphone last summer for the Brockton Rox semi-professional ball club eventually helping him to land the Spinners gig earlier this year. Riley’s voice can also be heard at many different high school and college events throughout the state of Massachusetts.
