HASTINGS BECOMES THIRD PLAYER TO ECLIPSE 1,000 KILLS

Mount Ida College men’s volleyball senior outside hitter and Captain Spencer Hastings (Orlando, FL/Timber Creak) became the third player in the history of the program to eclipse 1,000 kills at the Springfield College Invitational.  Hastings reached the milestone in game two against Baruch College and now sits third all-time behind leader and 2007 graduate Tim Hughes (1,791) and the most recent inductee in 2010 alumni Tom Belton (1,020). 

Hastings currently sits at 1,012 total kills through his four year career and is on pace to his pass his season best since 2011 (311 kills).  Hastings leads the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) this year with 3.95 kills per set and is fourth in the league in total kills. 

Mount Ida men’s volleyball will host a GNAC tri-match this weekend against visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology and Albertus Magnus College Saturday starting at 10:00 p.m.
