Mount Ida College men’s basketball junior guard Keith Jones (Boston, MA/Lake Brantley (FL)/Mass. Bay C.C.) has been named this week’s Mustang-of-the-Week.  This is the first time this season Jones has been selected to this award. 

Jones led the Mustangs to a 1-1 week with 26 points and six rebounds en route to a 93-64 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win over Suffolk University and 18 points in a 96-78 defeat to Albertus Magnus College last Tuesday in league action. Jones shot 44% from the field and 45% from behind the arc for the week. Jones is now third overall in scoring with 15.1 points per game for the Mustangs.

Jones and the Mustangs will travel to Cross town rival Lasell College on Tuesday February 15, 2011 with tip off slated at 8:00 p.m.

With a win Mount Ida will get their first season sweep of their arch rivals since the 2000-2001 season.

Mount Ida will then travel to Johnson and Wales on Thursday, February 17, 2011 and then return home on Saturday February 19, 2011 to finish the regular season against St. Joseph’s College (ME) on senior day.
