Mount Ida College women’s volleyball sophomore middle blocker Devyn Frank (Mystic, CT/Fitch) has been named this week’s Mustang-of-the-Week. Frank has emerged as one of the top players for the Mustangs making a smooth transition from her freshman season to a second year player.
Frank led the Mustangs in a 4-1 week along with their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over visiting Emmanuel College winning 3-2 in dramatic fashion. Mount Ida sits in second place in the GNAC standings with an overall record of 7-3, 1-0 in conference competition.
Last week was by far one of her best stretches during her career at Mount Ida. In five matches over this past week, Frank recorded 34 kills on 61 attempts with an amazing zero errors throughout that stretch and a solid .557 hitting percentage for the week. She also led her squad on solo blocks with 14 and four block assists good for 18 total blocks also including six service aces averaging over one a match.
The Mustangs will travel to non-conference Regis College (MA) this coming Tuesday night starting at 7:00 p.m. They will then come back to Mount Ida to host GNAC and neighboring rival Lasell College Thursday night starting at 6:00 p.m.
