WINTHROP, Mass. -- For the second consecutive week a member the Mount Ida College men's soccer team has been recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as the Corvias Rookie of the Week.

Juan Brenes (Santo Domingo, D.R.) was tabbed as this week's Rookie of the Week, exactly one week after teammate Alexi Flores (Central Falls, R.I.) was awarded the same recognition.

Brenes became just the eighth Mustang to notch a hat trick during a 10-0 win over Wheelock, then provided the game-winning assist in double overtime in a 2-1 win over GNAC foe Rivier as the Mustangs won their sixth straight game.

Brenes has now recorded at least one point in his last three contests and leads the Mustangs with six goals on the season. Brenes is tied for second in the GNAC in goals (6) and tied for third in total points with 13.

Mount Ida is back on the pitch in non-conference style on Wednesday night when they travel to Clark University with kickoff set for 7:00 PM. The Mustangs will return to GNAC action on Saturday when they host Albertus Magnus at 3:00 PM.
